Work Environment:
Hybrid: Work will include a mix of in-person tasks at the Division of Women’s Health office and virtual work.
Duration: Flexible start and end dates, with a minimum commitment of 10 weeks.

Organization Description
The Division of Women’s Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital fosters interdisciplinary collaborations in clinical care, research, and education in women’s health. Led by Dr. Ingrid Katz, the division is dedicated to addressing global health equity challenges, particularly in the realm of HIV and HPV prevention and treatment.
Dr. Katz also holds a secondary appointment in the Division of Global Health Equity and works with the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), supporting global initiatives to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Internship Project Description
Interns will contribute to ongoing research projects aimed at improving health outcomes in South Africa. These projects focus on socio-behavioral interventions related to:
- HPV Vaccination Uptake: Developing communication strategies to enhance vaccine adoption.
- HIV Treatment and Prevention Services: Addressing gaps in care and testing differentiated service delivery interventions.
- Migrant Men’s Engagement in Healthcare: Creating solutions to improve healthcare access and outcomes for underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature reviews and assist in drafting publications, presentations, and abstracts.
- Support qualitative and quantitative data analysis (based on skill set).
- Assist with administrative tasks related to research projects.
Deliverables:
Interns will produce abstracts, presentations, or manuscripts based on their contributions to the research projects.

- Strengthen science communication skills, including drafting and presenting research findings.
- Enhance cultural competency and understanding of the global HIV epidemic.
Qualifications
Preferred Skills:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Background Knowledge:
- Interest in public health, global health, health policy, economics, or medicine.
- Understanding of global health research and the global HIV epidemic is a plus.
